Political View: Tonks joined the Order of the Phoenix five years ago now so as you'd imagine she's anti you-know-who and everything that he symbolised. She does works for the Ministry as an Auror though, despite thinking that the majority of their veiws are a crock of shit. Her position gives her many advantages as a member of the group, advantages she has milked for all sorts of wild and wonderful reasons in the past. She does take her job seriously but over the years, having forged a number of important friendships throughout the war the Order has taken priority.

Appearance

Height: 5ft5
Weight: 120lbs
Eyes: Dark (from her mothers side of the family), usualy brown.
Hair: A mousy brown. However, Tonks prefers to sport a head full of short pink hair the majority of the time, that or purple... though if anything her hair changes more often than the rest of her does and the majority of the time it tends to suit her mood, keeping it brown when she's down or in a bad mood and colourful when she's feeling herself (a very motivated, sociable creature!).
Build: Average
Dress Style: Casual and colourful, tending to wear a pair of jeans underneath her robes the majority of the time. Or at least put it this way... it's very rare you'll see Tonks ever sporting a dress. A skirt maybe when she's in a disguise for work but even that's pushing it.

Basic Physical Description: Tonks is a Metamorphmagi, meaning that she can change her appearance at will (with a bit of concentration and she has the very faint crows feet at the side of her eyes to show for it!), at least within the limits of a human being. Her natural appearance though is that of a woman in her twenties with a heart shaped face, dark eyes and brown hair. She has a couple of scars about her person, mostly from work and many from clumsiness, including a rather large one at her shoulder from a rather nasty hex during a duel and another by her belly button after leaning over the dinner table and against a scorching pan of roast beef one Sunday at The Burrow.

Personality

First and foremost, Tonks hates being called Nymphadora. Call her that, Dora or Nora when you already know this and she'll likely hex you into next week bob on the cold shoulder and Tonks in a bad mood is not a pleasant experiance. There aren't many other things that'll have her acting that way though, overall she's a fairly bright spirited witch, full of optimism and never without a word to say.

She is fiercely loyal to those close to her (a fact that almost landed her in Hufflepuff back at school) and loves her family and friends as if they were one and the same, even going so far as considering almost the entire Order as being both (well, except from Severus Snape maybe), despite having only been a member since the second coming of you-know-who. Double cross her though and her temper is as fierce as her loyalty. Her emotions tend to get the better of her, a good quality for an Auror (at least the getting riled up part anyway) though she does tend to jump into things before thinking properly. That being the aspect of her personality which tipped the Sorting Hats decision to put her into Gryffindor.

A free spirit above all is what Tonks could be described as, she loves the company of others though she enjoys living alone. She supports herself in her job, paying for her own home and little bits and pieces that make her smile (mostly muggle rock music, her back catalogue of Quidditch Weekly and her infamous sock collection!). She's thoroughly independant and she loves it that way. Andromeda, however, would like very much for her daughter to settle down and start a family of her own but Tonks is too busy enjoying life, when the time comes around she'll know... or at least she hopes. She's ditzy but surely not as bad as everybody supposes. Everybody has their other half, so lets just say that Tonks is still testing the waters on that front.

Psychology

Extrovert/Introvert: Anybody who wants pink hair is clearly extrovert. While Tonks doesn't like being the complete 'center' of attention she does like a good party and nothing more than getting together with family (the little that she has) and good friends (of which she has many). Firewhiskey is very much a weakness of hers, even these days she still loves a tipple and a few 'requests' to change her appearance. She loves experimenting with her gift and enjoys pushing the boundries of it as often as she gets chances to. It has caused trouble for her in the past but it isn't something she can change and in recent years she has begun to feel fully settled with being a Metamorphmagi.
Boggart Would Be: Herself in Death Eater robes. While Tonks is very sure that she will never cross over to that way of living, a small part of her wonders whether it's in her blood and that with a little illegal pursuasion she can be pushed in the wrong direction. She's been under the Imperio curse only once a good while ago and the encounter left her feeling rather empty for a good while afterwards. It was only after this that her Boggart took on it's current form, before that it had been a swarm of bees. However, this is all rubbish, deep down Tonks knows full well that her family, including the Malfoys, think her a disgusting halfbreed that'd be more useful dead than as part of the 'elite'.
Patronus Would Be: Tonks can produce a fully formed patronus without much effort. It takes the form of a fox these days but in the past has been known to change with her state of mind (a few years back it took on the form of a werewolf after a spell in her life where she felt destined to belong to fellow Order member, Remus Lupin, only to be told that he was too old, too poor and too dangerous for her). Foxes tend to be solitary creatures and Tonks is very much a solitary person. This doesn't mean she's a loner though, very much the opposite, she's a very sociable creature that feels trusting and comfortable with herself, however her defenses can shoot up within a second. She can be quick to attack with a reply in an argument though she tends not to think them through first. A rather unfortunate bad habit of hers.

Sexuality

Tonks is very much a Heterosexual. She was never shy at school, she's hand a handful of partners though nothing serious enough worth nothing. Earlier this year she had a rather lukewarm relationship with Remus Lupin but it was purely romantic and was never sexual. However, since the two broke thing off in March Tonks has been finding herself emerging in a relationship of sorts with who other than Charlie Weasley who earlier in the year she had been assigned as personal Auror to.

Lifestyle

Occupation: Auror
Residence: A small flat down the road from her parents home in Liverpool. It's small, it's messy but it's home.
Financial Status: Comfortable. Her job as an Auror provides plenty to live off and also caters to her fruitful social life (trips to the pub aren't cheap afterall!). She pays her way but because she doesn't have any major financial commitments besides the flat she has quite a pile building up in her Gringotts vault.

Tonks is lucky in some ways. The mass majority of her mothers side of the family are either former Death Eaters, sympathisers with you-know-who or strict blood purists, but her mother, Andromeda Black, left her family at a young age, marrying a muggle and chosing a path for her family that was far more promising than anything the rest of the Black family (besides a very small number, including Sirius Black, Tonks' late first cousin once removed) could ever have provided.

Her mum comes from a fullblood family where as her dad is muggle through and through. She has aspects of them both about her personality, she's a stubborn, competitive witch just as her mum is though she's horribly messy and has an intense love for rock music just like her dad (who she'd chat with for hours and hours about Status Quo or the Weird Sisters given the opportunity). If she had the choice, she wouldn't swap them for the world, despite her mothers unfortunate family tree.

Andromeda and Ted are still living today in their home in Liverpool. Tonks lives down the road and when she has the chance is round there for tea (though Mrs Tonks' dinner isn't a patch on Mrs Weasleys!)

History from student days at Hogwarts to the present time

Tonks was born to Andromeda and Ted Tonks in 1973. Her childhood was never going to be normal. The family that counted was small and a young Nymphadora soon realised that her mothers side of the family, the Blacks weren't the same as the Tonks' were. Never the less she had a happy childhood and while her parents were never 'well off' they got by and their only daughter went on oblivious of the war around them, her family having withdrawn themselves from the wizarding world despite the fact that Tonks had begun showing signs of being a fairly willing and able witch from a very early age, her Metamorphmagi being the very first sign. Afterall not every four year old is able to change the colour of their eyes while blinking.

In 1984 the letter from Hogwarts arrived and there was no other option for the Tonks' but to send their daughter there, especially since the eleven year old had threatened to 'show off' her gift to the students at their local comprehensive if they didn't. So, in September of that year she caught the Hogwarts Express and so starting her adventures in Gryfindorr.

Tonks was a good student overall though she didn't make Prefect due to her 'lacking certain necessary qualities', of which the ability to behave herself would have ranked quite highly. However, she did do well in her OWLS and better still in her NEWTS. As she grew and learned more of her family her want and ambition to become an Auror grew too. She's always had an abundance of energy and thankfully a photographic memory which she believes helped in her exams; She point blank refuses to believe she's naturaly bright. She's far too clumsy for that rubbish.

1991 was the year Tonks left Hogwarts and found herself being accepted into the Auror training program, much to her delight and in 1995, her first year of being an Auror, she joined the Order of the Phoenix. Tonks has dedicated many of her recent years to the Order and it's members and while she enjoys her job at the Ministry as an Auror she would put her work with the Order first in a flash. Thankfully the two work in harmony and recently Tonks has been assigned to assist with the Registry, more specificaly the task of carrying out the wand checks of those at Spinners End.

The year now is 2000 and Tonks is still doing what she does best, saving the world from dark forces, knocking over everything in her path and confusing her friends with her colourful array of appearances.
